A board-certified plastic surgeon on Manhattan's Upper East Side is looking for a Surgical Coordinator. The surgeon is a recognized leader in the specialty, and the practice performs cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast and body. This is a small, close-knit office where the coordinator is the organizational center of the surgical schedule. You will book cases at hospitals and surgical centers, secure insurance authorizations for reconstructive procedures, prepare cosmetic fee quotes and handle deposits. You will also make sure every consent, lab result and clearance is in place before surgery day, and stay in touch with patients from their first question through their final post-op visit. The role offers competitive pay based on experience and benefits, and you'll work directly with a highly respected surgeon.
• 2 or more years of surgical coordination experience, preferably in plastic or cosmetic surgery
• Working knowledge of insurance pre-authorizations for breast reconstruction and other procedures
• Confident presenting surgical pricing and closing bookings
• Excellent organization and discretion with high-profile patients
• Proficiency with EMR and scheduling software
